My footsteps sublimely
disturb the eons gone by,
Behold the future ruins of
all grandiose monuments,
The ear-splitting murmurs
of ancient battles won and lost
The cries of the vanquished
The parade of the Victors,
The history keeps repeating
Fools hope for dawns
of new civilizations,
and modern ruins
