Ekla Cholo Re….I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known
Don’t know where it goes
But it’s home to me, and I walk alone…Ekla Cholo Re….I walk a lonely road

There is something ethereal and unworldly about taking morning walks, all by myself, in an American mega city called Dallas. The systematically paved path for walking without any irrational fear of finding myself face to face with a vehicle coming from the wrong side, the little playground for unseen children  in the crispy, morning cool air, the smooth flow of unobtrusive vehicular traffic without the cacophony of honking, the ever smiling strangers walking along the path, with or without their dogs, the spacious houses lined on both sides of the heavenly path that appear to be almost devoid of human inhabitation…..Enjoy the walk with me.

Morning walk in Dallas

Listen to the iconic ABBA song, ‘I have a dream on my Pratham Tarang’ – no harm in dreaming as you walk along with me!

Tagore sang:

If they answer not to your call walk alone

If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,

O thou unlucky one,

open your mind and speak out alone.

If they turn away, and desert you when crossing the wilderness,

O thou unlucky one,

trample the thorns under thy tread,

and along the blood-lined track travel alone.

If they shut doors and do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with storm,

O thou unlucky one,

with the thunder flame of pain ignite your own heart,

and let it burn alone.

  1. It’s a strange feeling to see the vast quietness of rural/suburban America, even for someone from NY/NJ. I’m sure such “quiet noise” would be a unique experience for anyone watching this video in India! …Reminded me of my Ohio days!
